Al Gulachenski joined Metropolitan Partners Group in January 2018 as an Operating Expert. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in the automation sector. Prior to joining Metropolitan Partners Group, Al was the Chief Operating Officer of Automation Engineering Inc. (AEI), an electronics equipment manufacturer and wholly-owned subsidiary of Mycronic, a $300 million public company in Sweden. In this position, he was responsible for all aspects of operations, supply chain and manufacturing. Before his tenure at AEI, Al was the Chief Executive Officer of New England Confectionary Company (NECCO), a manufacturer of iconic candy products. Earlier in his career, he was an Operating Principal of American Capital Strategies and Chairman of the Board of Unwired Technology until it was sold to Delphi in 2014. He also served as a vice president for SMART Modular Technologies and White Electronic Designs Incorporated. As an operating executive for over 25 years at public and private companies, Al has driven rapid growth and delivered measurable improvements through team development, root-cause problem solving and change management. Al graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Computer Hardware Engineering. He is also the inventor or co-inventor of four U.S. patents.
