New York, NY, June 6, 2017 (Newswire.com) – Metropolitan Partners Group Management, LLC (“Metropolitan”), a Registered Investment Adviser in New York City that provides capital to private companies via collateralized loan structures, announced today that it has secured a cornerstone LP commitment from Texas Tech University System Endowment (“TTUSE”) for its fourth direct lending fund, targeted to raise $125 million.
The investment with Metropolitan was overseen by TTUSE’s Chief Investment Officer, Tim Barrett. In 2016, Mr. Barrett was the proud recipient of two awards from the publication Chief Investment Officer: the magazine’s most prestigious award, “Chief Investment Officer of the Year,” as well as the “2016 Industry Innovation Award for Endowments.”
Mr. Barrett commented, “The Texas Tech University System seeks to partner with investment management teams who have built great firms with exceptional execution.”
“We are deeply grateful to have Tim’s support and welcome Texas Tech University to our group of investor partners,” said Paul Lisiak, Metropolitan’s Managing Partner. “Tim’s innovative approach to traditional endowment investing fits Metropolitan’s culture and strategy perfectly. We look forward to building our relationship as we grow the firm to take advantage of our market niche.”
