John Ioannou is an Advisor to Metropolitan. In late 2014, Metropolitan retained John as a full-time consultant to act as an operating partner seconded to certain portfolio companies. In Q3 2017, John assumed the role of President of Metropolitan. In Q2 2019, John moved into an advisory role. John is a former IBM executive, President and CEO of multiple companies and a General Partner of a venture capital fund with a long track record of accomplishments. He has operated and advised businesses ranging in size from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar units of Fortune 500 companies, with particular expertise in the services, credit, technology and private equity industries. He has held leadership, governance or advisory roles in 25 private and public companies across 12 different industries. He also led three separate company build ups across different industries, including raising $120 million for a specialty finance initiative. Earlier in his career, John spent 14 years at IBM in management positions in finance, operations and marketing, including COO/CFO of a $2 billion market region. At IBM, he also was responsible for managing $1 billion in credit facilities and receivables for customers and was a member of the executive team that helped launch the IBM Credit Corporation, which today is IBM Global Financing with an asset base of over $40 billion. John graduated summa cum laude from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey with a B.S. in Management.
